Job Summary

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth and market expansion for the HMO by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and increasing enrollment of individuals and corporate clients. The role focuses on revenue generation, client relationship management, and strengthening the HMO’s market presence while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities

Business Growth & Sales

  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities with corporate organizations, SMEs, and individual clients.
  • Promote HMO health plans and services to prospective clients through presentations, proposals, and negotiations.
  • Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets and revenue goals.

Client & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, brokers, agents, and strategic partners.
  • Manage client onboarding and ensure smooth transition from sales to account management.
  • Address client concerns and collaborate with internal teams to ensure high customer satisfaction and retention.

Market & Strategic Development

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify opportunities for new products, services, or partnerships (e.g., hospitals, clinics, wellness providers).

Partnerships & Provider Network Support

  • Support the expansion of the provider network by identifying potential healthcare providers and partners.
  • Collaborate with provider relations and operations teams to strengthen service delivery.

Reporting & Performance Tracking

  • Prepare regular sales and performance reports for management.
  • Track pipeline activities, conversion rates, and revenue forecasts.
  • Monitor competitor activities and provide strategic insights.

Compliance & Industry Standards

  • Ensure all sales and business development activities comply with healthcare regulations, HMO guidelines, and ethical standards.
  • Stay informed about changes in healthcare policies and insurance regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing, preferably within healthcare, insurance, or HMO sectors.
  • Strong understanding of health insurance products and managed care systems.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and relationship management abilities.
